About
My primary philosophical interests are focused on topics in philosophy of language, especially inferentialism and analytic pragmatism. I am currently writing a dissertation on Robert Brandom’s analytic pragmatism under the supervision of Professor Mircea Dumitru.
My PhD research project concentrates on issues such as: clarifying the relations between normative pragmatics, inferential semantics and analytic pragmatism; evaluating the analytic pragmatist expressive view of logic; evaluating the prospects of developing a formal logic for meaning-use relations (even as a special diagram logic); exploring the prospects of an analytical pragmatic structuralism (that looks for invariant results under metatheoretic pragmatic vocabulary substitution); exploring the metaphilosophical assumptions and implications of analytic pragmatism and the theoretic links between analytic pragmatism and metaethical expressivism.
I have previously worked in my MA and BA theses on issues related to the epistemology of modalities and the semantics of propositional attitudes.
I’m also interested in subjects related to history of philosophy, philosophy of culture, meta-philosophy, philosophy of technology, environmental ethics and communication. Some of the mentioned domains are directly linked to my position as Teaching Assistant at Politehnica University of Bucharest, where I've conducted seminars since 2003.
As an Assistant Researcher at The Center for the Study of Rationality and Beliefs and Assistant Editor for the journal Public Reason (since 2008), I also have a special interest in political philosophy.
